After a number of adidas’ endorsed players decided to make the Crazylight switch, we round up who stepped out in the Crazylight Pack across Europe this week.
Earlier this week adidas released the Crazylight Pack ahead of the Champions League fixtures; the first time the Three Stripes have released Crazylight editions of all four of their silhouettes. Some boots were treated to giant drops in weight, whereas others only a marginal difference from their standard model. After a select number of adidas’ endorsed players decided to make the switch, we round up who stepped out in the Crazylight boots across Europe this week.
Philip Lahm and his adidas 11pro Crazylight boots were at the centre of Bayern Munich’s crushing 7-1 victory over AS Roma - a result that sent shockwaves throughout Europe. The ever-reliant German World Cup winning captain might not have been an obvious candidate to represent the Crazylight range, but nevertheless jumped straight into the “Black/Neon Orange/Infrared” 11pro editions. The adidas 11pro Crazylight shaved off more weight than any other adidas boot, coming in at 180g - 80g lighter than the standard model.
Another Bayern Munich player who took advantage of the Crazylight drop was David Alba. The Austrian full-back took the field wearing the f50 Crazylight, causing plenty of danger on the left flank with his performance. The unmissable “Neon Green” boots headline the Crazylight pack as the world’s lightest ever football boot, weighing just 140g - 10g lighter than the standard f50 model.
Tuesday night saw London witnessed Chelsea playmaker Oscar debut his adidas Predator Crazylight boots. The ever-present Predator player switched from his standard Predator Instinct boots to the the Crazylight editions which have seen a 60g drop in weight. Oscar helped his tam to a 6-0 bullish display over Maribor.
At the heart of Benfica’s performance against Monaco was Nicolas Gaitan. The midfielder joined Philip Lahm in representing the 11pro silo, stepping out int he Crazylight editions. Again was at the centre of Benfica’s performance, helping to earn his team their first point of the Champions League group stage. His passion was matched by the bright “Neon Orange” running through the design of the 11pro Crazylight.
Atletico Madrid’s Koke put in a stunning performance as the only player wearing the Nitrocharge 1.0 Crazylight. The Spaniard scored Atletico’s first goal of the night before the La Liga champions completed a comfortable 5-0 win over Malmo. The Nitrocharge is as crazy in design as any of the Crazylight pack, but with a mere 10g reduction in weight, offers little to justify its new title.
Having already scored two goals wearing the f50 adizero Crazylight, James Rodriguez was always going to pack his new boots for Real Madrid’s Champions League visit to Anfield. The Colombian couldn’t add to to his Crazylight goal-count, but still played a pivotal role in Madrid’s comfortable win over Liverpool, providing a beautiful assist for Cristiano Ronaldo’s opening goal.
