Paulo Dybala has provided a further look at an upcoming adidas on-pitch project as the Juve man switched into a laceless blacked out silhouette in training on Thursday.

Since signing Dybala before the 2018 World Cup it feels like adidas haven't really known what to do with him. He's clearly got the status to be a leading player for a silo but the Three Stripes have yet to find how to best utilise him. At one point it looked as if he'd be the lead player for the Glitch series, but then he reverted back to the X 18 to kick off the season. The blackout boot he's wearing here could mark a more permanent move for the Argentine.

Dybala is quite clearly wearing the same boot that we saw Inter Milan defender Miranda training in last month. But what are they? We know that adidas already offer three of their four silos in slip-on form. The current generations of the Predator, X and Nemeziz are all laceless, leaving just the COPA series as the brand's laced boot. Are adidas about to take the COPA to laceless town? Or are we looking at a next-gen of the aforementioned trio?

The leather upper would indicate that adidas are in the latter stages of bringing a modern twist to the COPA series, with distinct cushioning and wavy aesthetic. Nothing is set in stone just yet, and don't expect an official release this side of Christmas. We're thinking more 2019 here.
