It’s all change at Tottenham Hotspur this week, and that includes Harry Kane’s boots, with the England captain changing into an unreleased colourway of the Nike PhantomVNM in his first training session under the watchful eye of new manager, Jose Mourinho.

Following the international break, the Spurs squad have returned to a new face at the helm, with Jose Mourinho brought in after Mauricio Pochettino was unceremoniously given his marching orders. And whether he was out to impress his new coach, or, more likely testing out a new look ahead of launch, Harry Kane was spotted training in a previously unseen PhantomVNM, offering a glimpse at what is likely to be the next on-pitch release from the Swoosh.

We’ve already seen a similar new colourway for the Mercurial Vapor on the feet of USA right back, Sergio Dest when they thumped Canada recently, and Nike have been breaking up their standard four-silo pack releases, mixing things up for some interesting pairings and combinations. If, indeed, Kane’s new PhantomVNM does debut alongside the Mercurial in their own release, it will be the first time that it has been split from its Phantom twin, the VSN.

The look of the new PhantomVNM takes on a desert brown upper, with some iridescent strips flashing down the lace cover. As with the Mercurial Vapor, that upper is joined by a purple soleplate, while the Swoosh takes on a darker, contrasting hue, with similar dark detailing around the collar.

The sighting comes just ahead of the return of the Premier League this weekend and just under a week away from the return of the Champions League. Whether Kane debuts this new look VNM on the weekend is anyone’s guess, but we’d bet our bottom dollar on it definitely being on his feet when Spurs welcome Olympiakos to the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night.
