Bit of Boot Spotting from PSG’s latest training session, as Neymar took part in the session in a blacked out prototype of the next generation Future, giving us our first look at the upcoming boot.

Neymar is PUMA’s main man in the Future silo, so it’s no surprise to see that he is one of the first athletes to give its next generation a spin. As always, the blacked out look doesn’t give a lot away (the whole point), but we can see that there has been some significant work on the upper, while the soleplate remains something of a mystery. Will this boot continue with the ‘Z’ shaped outsole that’s contributed to recent incarnations' names? We’ll have to wait and see.

What we can tell though is that it will once again be a laced boot, although whether this is optional or not will remain to be seen. The FUZIONFIT compression band that’s normally present in the mid foot is a possible casualty of this upgrade, although it may just be that it’s taken a less visible position, perhaps internally.

It doesn’t feel long at all since we got the Future Z 1.4, so it’s a surprise to see the next generation already, but having said that, given that this is a first sighting it’ll probably still be a while before it’s officially released.
