With MLS returning to action recently, Lionel Messi has once again been in the spotlight, garnering mass attention as he performs his magic on the pitch. Now though it’s what he’s doing off the pitch that’s gained our attention, with the Argentinian wearing a mystery whiteout adidas boot.

Last week, Lionel Messi received his latest signature edition boot from adidas, the X Crazyfast ‘Spark Gen10s’, which the Argentinian has been wearing on pitch for the start of the 2024 MLS season. Now though, he’s been spotted at Inter Miami’s recent training session in a mystery adidas whiteout boot, likely putting a new prototype from the Three Stripes through its paces ahead of a launch later this year.

So what is it? One thing we can fairly safely assume is that it’s not a Predator, it doesn’t look like a Copa, and logic would naturally suggest it’s the next iteration of the X silo anyway, given that that’s what Messi has been wearing since his switch from the now retired Nemeziz franchise back in 2021.

Of course, the other alternative is that it’s something new. Or, dare we say it, but given the popularity of the nostalgia-heavy Predator 24, could it be something making a return? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

It’s hard to tell much from the boots on Messi’s feet – the whiteout disguise doing its job in terms of hiding any obvious tech. What you can tell though is that they have a completely new upper design compared to the X Crazyfast, while the soleplate looks like it has also been redesigned.
