Fashion label Lyle & Scott have linked up with Lovers FC for a capsule collection that beautifully blends terrace trends with throwback football. Titled 'Memories are Made' the series uses Lyle & Scott's own pitch side experience fused with Lovers FC's cultural influence in the game.

Once reserved for the golf course, Lyle & Scott's knitwear has been adopted by football fans since the 80s and early 90s with the brand becoming a firm presence in stadiums across Europe, as casual terrace culture swung into full effect. It was this affiliation, coupled with Lyle & Scott’s Royal Warrant for Knitwear that fuelled Lovers FC to join forces with the brand, resulting in a unique interpretation of the classic football shirts that fans know and love. 

The joint venture sees both brands re-imagine iconic football shirts of the past for a new generation. Some of the most iconic 90s football shirts are given a new lease of life with designs being re-formed using textured and premium merino wool, resulting in a limited edition collection of nostalgic pieces that combine Lyle & Scott’s heritage knitwear expertise with bold graphics that are reminiscent of football's glory days.

Author, brand consultant and Lovers FC founder Neal Heard has built a career from his love of sneakers and football. An authority on casuals culture and a veteran of the 80s terraces, Neal has amassed an enviable archive of football shirts that gives a snapshot into the game’s culture and style over the past 25 years; from the glory days of the 70s, through to the rise of the Premier League and Champions leagues. Heard’s collection, alongside his first-hand experience influence the styles that feature in this initial six piece collection and new collaboration.
