Talking a creative game and offering a behind the scenes insight from the world of football kit design, as part of the Jacket Required x Neal Heard Art of the Football Shirt exhibition, two of adidas' chiefs in design joined a Q&A panel to discuss the past, present and future of our much treasured on pitch wears.

An insightful discussion which saw Neal Heard and Jesse Rabbeljee (Cult of Kits) join Inigo Turner (adidas) and Jurgen Rank (adidas), go through the motions detailing what goes in to creating a kit, this was a chance to hear first hand about the journey shirts go on in the design process. In depth and detailed, from the inspiration, through to juggling the 100 page dossier of FIFA rules and regulations, this was a prized offering from an exhibition that doesn't just stop at celebrating kits but also crosses boundaries as it explores the art and cultural world's in which football kits transcend.

Moreover, as the three stripe domination of a stadium to street party continues, this was an outpouring that explores a world unseen to many. The intricacies of football shirt design were chartered and by offering this glimpse of adidas' creative headspace it offered some of their most senior football creatives a chance to lift the lid on their way of working. Naturally, plans for the future are kept under lock and key but by looking through some of the shirts gone by, this showcased the ideas between many of the kits that have hit World Cups, European Championships and the domestic leagues.

One more chance to celebrate football shirts from today, tomorrow and yesterday, you can see what this Neal Heard curated exhibition, hosted by Jacket Required had in store here. Now, to take it on the road.
