He's been wearing their boots since the beginning of pre-season and now adidas have officially announced the addition of Roma & Netherlands forward Justin Kluivert to their ranks.

Kluivert has been wearing the X 18+ since the start of the current 18/19 season after cutting ties with Nike at the end of the previous campaign, but it's taken a while for adidas to officially announce him as one of their own. One of the most hyped teenage prospects after a breakthrough season at Ajax, Kluivert is expected to play a pivotal role in a resurgent Netherlands generation.

Son of Dutch legend Patrick, Justin is part of a new generation of adidas players who have a strong image in both performance and lifestyle circles and that's what makes him valuable to brands. Just last year Justin's 9 year-old brother Shane signed for Nike, but Justin has gone his own way by ditching the Swoosh for the three stripes.

He'll continue to wear the adidas X 18+ boots for club and country this season, so not much will change in that respect. What you can expect is to see him feature in far more adidas campaigns moving forwards. Those boyish good looks will sell.
