Nike dropped their new generation Mercurial in a showcase of speed as the Swoosh took over Paris this weekend for a special launch event with Borussia Dortmund and England's Jadon Sancho.

Celebrating the arrival of the "New Lights" and "Under The Radar" colourways of the Mercurial Superfly 7 and Vapor 13, Nike rolled out another show-stopping event in the French capital ahead of the boots making their on-pitch debut in Sunday's Women's World Cup Final further south in Lyon. Mercurial players for the USA and Holland will lace up in the blue "New Lights" drop to kick off a new generation of Nike speed. Before that though, the Swoosh pulled some Mercurial moves with a headline set in Paris.

Fast paced football on a pitch of blue, international talent from the men's and women's games, as well as the Mercurial itself being delivered by drone in front of a sublime backdrop in the Nanterre neighbourhood of Paris. With Jadon Sancho, Norway's Caroline Graham and Brazil's Andressa Alves taking to the pitch before Nike designers explained the process of the new Mercurial project, it was the ideal way to end one season while kicking off another.

Oh, and the debut Mercurial moves aren't over yet, stick around for a first limited edition drop tomorrow (July 8).
