There’s been a lot hype surrounding a certain football tournament in Africa recently… No not the Africa Cup of Nations, we’re talking about the third – and possibly final – instalment of Daily Paper’s annual cup competition, hosted at Accra Sports Stadium, the pitch they built with PUMA back in 2017.

Dutch fashion label Daily Paper have their roots firmly fixed in African culture and they have always been committed to ensuring that the rich and diverse culture of Africa is at the forefront of everything they do globally, through their seasonal collections, visual campaigns, lookbooks and storytelling. Now on its third run, the tournament hosted at Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana – a stadium that Daily Paper and PUMA built in collaboration back in 2017 – is a well oiled machine. It continues to be a festival of football and creativity – both on and off the pitch, with international artists like Eugy, King Promise, and Vic Mensa invited to take part.

Organised with passion and love, the tournament unites the local creative community, and its return completed the pop-up activities that kickstarted 2022, once again featuring personalised jerseys in collaboration with PUMA. Teams Free The Youth and Melanin Unscripted returned to play alongside new competitors like Too Loud, Smallgod and Eunice Beckmann, with Native Mag eventually coming out on top to win the tournament.
