Nike and Corinthians unveil the club's new striped, 1970's inspired, home and away kits for the 2014/15 season.

Brazilian club Corinthians have revealed their new Nike home and away strips for the coming season. Inspired by the Corinthians' uniform of the 1970s, which featured bold vertical stripes that many fans consider as the most illustrious in the club’s history, the new kit will be worn on pitch for the first time at their Brasilian Championship home match on Sunday, July 27.

The white home kit features four bold black stripes on the front and two black stripes on both sleeves. Returning for the new season is a v-neck collar design, which has a pennant tab on the inside at the base of the neck featuring an image of Saint George, the club’s patron saint, and the dragon. The shorts are black and the socks are white and, for the first time after many years, bear the same four stripes as the jersey. The club’s acronym can be seen on the back of the socks: SCCP (Sport Club Corinthians Paulista). The away kit mirrors the home kit in design; black with thick white stripes.

Nike Brasil Marketing VP Henry Rabello commented; “Nike and Corinthians have been writing new chapters in the history of football since 2003 and it’s no different this time around. It is an honor to launch the new uniforms for this season by connecting our most innovative performance technology and a tribute to one of the greatest Corinthians and Brasil national team players ever.”

The new 2014/15 Corinthians home and away kits will be available from Aug 6 at selected Nike stockists. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
