Atletico Madrid become the latest club to show off their new season threads as Nike unveil their 2015/16 home shirt which marks the 20th anniversary of Atléti’s 1995-96 campaign, the first time the club won the La Liga and Copa Del Rey double.

That famous team of 20 years ago was marshalled in the midfield by current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and it's the shirt that he wore in that successful year that inspires the latest jersey. The new home shirt boasts five classic Atlético de Madrid red stripes on a white background to recreate the home kit aesthetic from 20 years ago, every stripe is bordered by a thin red pinstripe on each side.

In further a reference to the 1995-96 shirt, the sleeves and shoulder blades of the new home shirt form a commanding block of the club’s vibrant red. This color palate continues onto the shirt’s back, which for the first time in the club’s history is entirely red. The stripes extending onto the v-neck collar is classy little feature, got a lot of time for that.
