Northern Ireland turn to their last major tournament appearance to inspire their adidas home strip for Euro 2016. Booking their place in France as the first fifth seeds to win a European Championship qualifying group the Northern Irish embraced their minnow status and are reaping the rewards.

The Mexico 1986 World Cup was the last time the Northern Irish qualified for the main event and it's the kit they wore that year that has influenced the design to be worn in France. A navy detailing on the chest and sleeve are the key visual features that'll catch the eye when Steven Davis leads out his side wherever and against whoever in their opening group game.

Some description

A tad more navy blue than the previous strips, it's a solid design if you ask us. Simple but enough going on to not be classed as boring - Job done. Although we're reliably informed that opinion isn't totally shared in Northern Ireland! The new home kit will be seen on pitch for the first time on the Friday 13th November when Northern Ireland host Latvia at Windsor Park.
