Galatasaray are the latest Nike club to receive a retro-infused third shirt for the 2019/20 season. The Turkish giants have released a kit that pays homage to the classic stripes of 1999/2000 in a tonal underlying print, in-keeping with the modern half/half home shirt identity.
Celebrating two decades since the club’s unprecedented quadruple-winning season that ushered in a new era for Turkish football, the new 2019/20 third shirt will be worn by the reigning Turkish champions throughout their Champions League campaign this season, meaning the shirt will likely get a debut when they travel to Club Brugge on Wednesday night to kick off their Group A journey.
The other two trips in Group A will see Galatasaray travel to the Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid, and a visit to France to take on Paris Saint-Germain; another club who have also been dished out with a throwback styled Nike third shirt for their European challenge this season. As with the PSG 19/20 third shirt, the Galatasaray shirt brings back the iconic Nike 'Futura' logo which also stands tall on the Chelsea, Spurs, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan 3rd shirts this season. Just one 'Futura' third shirt design remains to be released, and that's Roma. Expect that to drop ahead of their first Europa League game on Thursday.
