Bayern Munich are celebrating their 120th anniversary by launching a special edition kit with adidas to celebrate a landmark year for the Bavarians. Retro charm meets clinical styling as the club unveil a special edition home shirt which will be worn on pitch in the Bundesliga this season.
The minimal design will drop tomorrow (27 February) to mark the exact date that the club were founded on back in 1900. Not only will it be available for fans to buy, it'll also feature on pitch as Bayern Munich have been granted permission by the Bundesliga to wear the kit in their home fixture against Bavarian rivals Augsburg on March 8 at the Allianz Arena.
The kit, which takes inspiration from the jersey worn during Bayern's first ever German Championship winning season in 1932 comes in a crisp white base with darker red sleeves on the shirt, paid with matching short and socks. To further pull off the retro look, adidas have blended the special 120th anniversary edition club crest, adidas logo and T-Mobile sponsor in white to ensure the shirt has a look of throwback simplicity from a distance. That official 120th anniversary logo also appears on the inside of the shirt, and the design is finished off with a burgundy tag that reads 'Special Edition - 1900-2020' on the bottom right of the jersey.
