Paying homage to the history and identity of the club, Kappa have launched the FC Lorient 20/21 home and away shirts, with designs that are influenced by the Lorient Interceltic Festival. The shirts are set to be worn in Ligue 1 after the club gained promotion in the 19/20 season.

The 50th anniversary of the Lorient Interceltic Festival is a major marker for the local territory, but like so many other things these days it has had to be postponed to 2021. But that hasn’t stopped Kappa and FC Lorient from paying tribute to the event, with a tone-on-tone pattern inspired by the poster for the event featuring through the orange body on the home shirt for the 20/21 season.

For the away shirt, a white base is joined by a strong sash-style graphic that represents the horizon line separating sky and sea on the coast of the region.

Fabrice Bocquet, Director General of FC Lorient, explains this choice: “The Festival Interceltic and FC Lorient are united by very strong ties. In addition to sharing the same enclosure, they both contribute to enliven the territory and to promote the city of Lorient nationally and even beyond. It therefore seemed natural to us to join the 50th edition of the Festival by dedicating the jersey of this new season to it. This joint decision had been taken before the postponement of the 2020 edition and this jersey is for us the opportunity to show our solidarity with the Interceltic Festival and its teams. We will strive to be worthy representatives this season."

Lisardo Lombardia, Director General of the Interceltic Festival of Lorient, is delighted with this great collaboration: “The Interceltic Festival of Lorient and the Lorient Football Club are two essential institutions for the attractiveness of the city of Lorient, which is why it is natural that we forge partnerships that strengthen our ties. The new “Merlus” jersey, embossed with Celtic tracery and the mention of FIL, is a fine example of collaboration and enhancement of Brittany and the future celebration of the 50th anniversary in 2021. Hopefully this will bring luck to Hakes."
