Signalling a new era for the club in which they go into the 20/21 Premier League season as defending champions, Liverpool unveil their first-ever Nike home shirt. It sees the reintroduction of hints of teal popping through the collar and cuffs, harking back to the 93/95 home shirt and also paying homage to the club's crest.

After a long and protracted culmination to their time with New Balance, albeit ending on the highest note possible, Liverpool and Nike finally get their new partnership underway with the release of the 20/21 home shirt. The design boasts some familiar design features, both from the club’s history, but also in terms of elements we’ve seen appearing on other Nike kits.

One of the first things of note about the new Liverpool kit is the collar. That front and rear fold over design has already been seen on the likes of the new Spurs home shirt, the Barca away shirt and the Wolfsburg away shirt. But with the introduction of some teal detailing – reminiscent of the home shirt from the 93/95 home kit and also the club's crest, the collar stands out all the more. That green also pops through the cuffs, while the rest of the shirt design remains fairly simple in its execution.

The teal is joined by white detailing in the collar and cuffs, and it also runs down the sides before being used on the sponsor, branding and club crest.

We are very excited to be partnering with a global icon like Liverpool FC. This strategic partnership will reinforce Nike’s position as the best and most inclusive football brand in the world,” said Bert Hoyt, VP/GM, Nike EMEA. “As next season kicks off, we look forward to supplying the club and its supporters with innovative, stylish collections while furthering our shared ambition to inspire youth and future generations through brilliant football.”

Those sentiments are echoed by Billy Hogan, Liverpool FC MD and CCO. “We talked back in January, when we first announced the new partnership with Nike, about our expectations on them becoming an incredible partner for the club,” said Hogan. “We’re so excited to be starting this journey with Nike, the global leader in sports apparel and we look forward to working together to bring performance and lifestyle product to our supporters in the year ahead.
