In honour of 250 years of Porto Alegre, Grêmio has launched its new 2022 home and away jerseys from Umbro. The home shirt is set to debut on 15 April in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B match against Chapecoense.

Porto Alegre, capital city of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is where Brasileiro Série B side Grêmio’s call home. The city is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year, and the club’s new home and away jerseys nod to that fact, with subtle details included in the design, which arrives courtesy of Umbro. The launch will feature the “Feel the Manto” campaign, developed under the consultancy of Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos, which brings Braille details to the shirts, aiming at a greater inclusion of visually impaired fans.

The home jersey continues with the club's traditional colour combination of sky blue, black and white, while the away sees white with blue and black details on the sides. On the inside label of the collar, the phrase “Clube de Todos” is written both in a traditional way and in Braille. On the outside, on the hem of the shirt, there is a patch highlighting the number “250”, acknowledging the city’s anniversary, and it sits alongside the municipal map and the silhouette of the Casal Açoriano, symbol of the foundation of Porto Alegre.
