Performing visual on pitch voodoo, PUMA have launched the evoSPEED 17.SL with an "Optical" introduction. Making David Blaine look like David Plain, it's with reflective detailing that these party into the festive season, set to light up under the lights.

Somehow, with this evolved chapter for the evoSPEED SL, PUMA have managed to blend high end super chic style with a look of glaring on pitch dazzle. A boot for those that like to cut loose with ruthless pace too, it's new territory we're talking with the 17.SL offering a fresh lease of life for a boot that keeps on giving. The ultra-thin microfibre upper doesn't just carry on from where the likes of the evoSPEED SL II left off, but it shines a new light. Quite literally.

Some description

In classic PUMA fashion the SL version of the next generation evoSPEED is rolled out under a sheet of distraction. Suited in a light grey upper out of the box, the Form Stripe and PUMA branding are only visible under the flash of a light. It’s another masterclass in experimental design from the brand that once brought us a pair of 3D graphic boots. Technically speaking, we’re looking at subtle shifts in the boots construction, most notably a TPU-enforced band across the forefoot.

Some description

Officially labelled “Quarry/Puma White/Puma Black”, once exposed to the elements, the boots upper changes its appearance with the reflective skin. As with the evoSPEED SL II, the SPEEDTRACK spine provides the balance between stability in the midfoot and flexibility in the forefoot, enhancing both speed and agility. The lightweight nylon stud configuration is composed of a mix of bladed and conical studs, providing increased levels of stability, traction and acceleration.

Like its icey finish the timing is on point for a delivery of this sort. As pitches sit in rock hard formation these are designed to glide. Expect to see Agüero, Reus and Griezmann lace up in the boots this weekend.

Like what you see, party season is this way.
