PUMA strip off the Camo suit to unveil the official launch colourway of the next-generation evoPOWER Vigor 1 in a bold "Gecko Green" display. A number of key technology changes ensure that it's the biggest overhaul yet for the evoPOWER series – a silhouette that keeps power and accuracy at the heart of the design.

The PUMA evoPOWER Vigor 1 undoubtably marks a new era for the silo with genuine upgrades on show in numbers. Let's reel 'em off: First up it's that one-piece upper that has become popular across the market in recent seasons – the Vigor 1 is the first in the evoPOWER family to feature a stretchable Spandex sock construction. The AccuFoam upper features a new engineered 3D format that hosts strategically placed PU foam dots (those little yellow things) and it's these that create an uneven surface when the foot comes in contact with the ball, increasing precision and power.

The upper is completed with PUMA’s Adap-Lite material further enhanced with a new support cage that allows the foot to bend. A PUMA favourite of GripTex is also applied to the upper to help enhance grip and ball control. The soleplate? That's the same as the previous evoPOWER. A pull tag on the heel and 'PWR' branding on the instep provide the finishing touches.

Overall, we're looking at a far more streamlined silo thanks to that slip on construction and updated technology that maximises the shooting power of a player. A worthy upgrade indeed. The launch edition of the PUMA evoPOWER Vigor 1 in "Green Gecko" will be worn on-pitch by PUMA evoPOWER regulars such as Olivier Giroud and Mario Balotelli, and new PUMA ambassadors, Petr Čech and Marc Bartra.
