Nike launch the seventh and final version of their current CR7 Mercurial series by dropping another statement signature design for Cristiano Ronaldo. Naturally landing in time for a Champions League debut, expect to see the main man wearing them against Valencia on Wednesday.
The current "CR7 Chapters" series first launched in 2015 with Nike using the Mercurial canvas to paint a timeline of the Portuguese forward's career. From Sporting Lisbon, to Manchester United, to Real Madrid, to world dominance, the Mercurial has been a symbol of success throughout. Each boot relaying an important piece of Cristiano Ronaldo's personal and footballing history.
The final iteration, Chapter 7, is the culmination of the storytelling and pays homage to the player's number 7 in the forefoot graphic, and also nods to the memorable carbon fiber Mercurial SL boots of the past. A bright red to silver gradient adorns the upper, and exclusive CR7 branding is found throughout. It's the most successful signature football boot series of all time, and it ain't done yet.
Nope. This ain't the end of CR7's reign as Nike top dog. Neymar and Mbappe will have to wait a bit longer to fight for that throne.
