It’s already been glimpsed on the feet of Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, but now New Balance have officially launched the Furon v6; the next generation silo that represents the brand’s first foray into the world of knitted uppers. And it arrives, as expected, in the striking “Neo Flame/Silver” colourway that we’ve already seen.

We’ve already seen the next generation of Furon on the feet of Sadio Mane, and we got a better look at it when New Balance presented Mané with a signature edition to honour his African Player of the Year award, but now the American brand lift the veil on their latest upgrade. The Furon v6 smashes onto the scene as their lightest boot to date, and that’s thanks in the most part to the new adaptive, lightweight FIT WEAVE stretch upper. The knit material boasts life-long shape retention, so you know that the fit isn’t going to change from game to game.

And the tech modifications keep coming. A hyper-lock tuned lacing system and collar package combine to ensure that the foot remains locked in to the boot, while targeted, data driven support zones offer minimal weight and incredible responsiveness. This truly is the next stage of evolution for the Furon.

It’s all wrapped up in a smart “Neo Flame/Silver” colourway that sees purple hues fading back through the knitted upper into red, while the “NB” logo flashes across the vamp in silver. As mentioned, it’s a look that Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has already been spotted training in, and it is likely that the Senegal striker will make the switch into them for the Manchester United game on Sunday. Mané winner against United in the Furon v6? Would be a good start to the next-gen silo’s life…
