To celebrate Liverpool’s historic Premier League triumph, Nike got their special edition groove on to produce customised boots for all of their Reds, presenting them to the players ahead of the Newcastle game.

Ahead of Nike’s imminent takeover of the Liverpool contract from New Balance, the Swoosh flexed its creative muscles to produce special edition boots for all of its contracted players commemorating the club’s first Premier League win ever and first league title in 30 years. So that was new boots for Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson, Alisson, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. Certainly got the attention of all those with an eye on the new contract starting…

The boots included the Mercurial Superfly VII, the Phantom VNM, and the Tiempo Legend VII, all decked out in white with red detailing. Features of the designs across the three boots saw red laces, a Liver Bird, an image of the Premier League trophy along with the trademark Nike Swoosh, and the Roman numerals for '19' (XIX), representing the total number of league titles Liverpool have won during their history. There was even the finishing touch of a '96' between two flames as a Hillsborough tribute, something all Reds fans will have appreciated.

No surprise that these weren't on show for the Newcastle game. Probably on the mantlepiece already...
