As one of the greatest players of all time, Marco Van Basten has a lasting legacy in the game. Honouring that legacy and all of his achievements while with the brand, Diadora launch the special edition Brasil and B-Elite, both of which are crafted in Italy.

Marco Van Basten was a phenomenal player who, at the age of 31, had his career disappointingly cut short through injury. But prior to that he enjoyed an enormous amount of success, most notably from his time with AC Milan from 1987 to 1995, during which he scooped the league title four times, the European Cup three times, and the Balon d’Or three times. And for the majority of this time he was wearing the Diadora Brasil, which is now recreated by the Italian brand for a limited 200-piece run.

The Diadora Brasil is a classic, once again made in Italy, offering that premium level craftsmanship worthy of the materials used in its construction. The upper is made from an ulra-ultra-soft K-leather upper, while that quilted vamp feels as premium as ever. Of course, the recreation wouldn’t be complete without that iconic folder tongue. This is about as traditional as it gets. Lap it up.

In a similar move to the boots released earlier this year to honour George Weah's legacy, Diadora again release the Brasil, which is a recreation of the boot he wore at that time, alongside the B-Elite Italia, a modernised version created in homage to the Dutch legend. The B-Elite Italia packs in modern day innovation while still paying tribute to Van Basten through one of his signature colourways. It's constructed from a premium full grain leather, taking the best bits of the OG – the plush feel and forgiving shape – and combines them with a modern, lightweight soleplate, which extends into an external heel cup for stability.
