One of the most reliable boots in the game, the Nike Premier III, gets a midseason refresh, arriving in a “Hyper Royal/Black” colourway, adding a tiny lick of style to what is otherwise a no-nonsense performer.

The next generation Nike Premier III has been with us for over a year now, unveiled as it was back in November 2021, and it still boasts a premium K-leather upper, although it now features an altered stitch pattern through the forefoot to create specific cushioning zones at the instep and outstep. The big and bold Nike sign off on the heel has been replaced by an embossed logo, with the wording “Nike Premier” riding on top. Then there’s the tongue. Some love it, some not so much, and Nike appreciate that, placing a dotted cut line on its base, just incase you want to lop it off.

The Nike Premier is an absolute people’s-champ of a boot, finding that perfect balance between classic feel, modern performance, and above all else, comfort, and all for around the £100 mark, depending on your soleplate type; firm ground and you’re sub a tonne, but opt for the anti-clog soft ground plate – and let’s face it, we’re still in winter – and you just tip over the £100 mark. Still an absolute bargain price in today’s market.

Colourway-wise, this is a subtle shift from the “Signal Blue/White/Obsidian” look that dropped back in April of last year, the White branding being switched out for black. Simple, but effective as far as switch-ups go.
