Real Madrid duo Alvaro Arbeloa and Xavi Alonso speak to adidas football ahead of the Spanish Supercopa final.
Ahead of the Spanish Supercopa second leg derby match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, adidas have released two "My Laces" videos featuring Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa where each players talks about the mindset in the lead up to a big game and their new adidas Predator Instinct football boots.
Speaking on his adidas Predator Instinct boots, Xabi Alonso explained; “When I get new boots, I wet them first so they adjust better to my feet. After each game you clean then, put a bit of grease on them to keep the upper soft. I do like it when the heel is a little higher than normal, then I feel like the boot fits my foot better and gives me more protection in that area. I need it and after all, these boots are the tools I work with so I notice that a lot."
Modern football boots such as the adidas Predator Instinct allow pro players to slip into a new pair on match day without any issues; a topic Arbeloa and Real Madrid assistant coach Fernando Hierro have spoken about. “The other day I was talking about this with Fernando Hierro. Nowadays we can wear a brand new pair of boots for a game. He says that was unthinkable when he played."
