Antonio Rudiger switched into a blacked out edition of the next Nike Tiempo Legend on international duty this week as the seventh generation boot prepares for an expected launch ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Totally blacked out to hide any launch colourways or design detail, Rudiger's Tiempo 7 boots boast a shift in design by featuring a rigid pattern running across the entire upper for a distinct aesthetic. Expected to use a soft kangaroo leather upper and flywire-esque support skeleton, the Tiempo Legend 7 is being kept very close to Nike's chest at present, but that's set to change as the new season approaches.

The Roma defender is the latest Tiempo player to wear the new-generation silo, with Manchester United's Matteo Darmian and Real Madrid's Raphael Varane already spotted testing the black out silo earlier in the year. That rigid design is for more chiseled and defined than the speed ribs of the Mercurial Vapor XI but certainly gives the Tiempo a fresh look and one that Nike could well have some fun with when it comes to colourways. For now though, the colourways are classified but you we'd guess at them appearing as the players lace up for their respective pre-season tours. The Tiempo timeline ticks on.

The Tiempo 6 is currently Nike's longest serving generation having been launched in November 2015. A lot has changed in Nike's innovation stable since then, the Swoosh have plenty of tools to play with. Stay tuned.
