A new chapter awaits in adidas Football as the Three Stripes begin to turn their attentions towards their 2018 football footwear projects. A blackout next-generation silhouette was on show at Tottenham's training ground this afternoon with Spurs duo Dele Alli and Fernando Llorente getting a first feel for the upcoming concept.

We've already seen the blackout editions on the feet of Ivan Rakitic and Mats Hummels, but now adidas have upped the pace by dishing out more all-black editions to their Tottenham Hotspur players. The re-issue of the Predator Precision, the all-new Nemeziz, and new-generations of the ACE & X have built huge hype heading into a World Cup year and adidas look set to build on that wave of creativity by riding it all the way to Russia with their next adventure.

The future silhouette features prominent grooves on the instep and forefoot to suggest adidas have a control focus on their next generation silo. First inspection reveals a boot that takes cues from the ACE 17+, with a laceless, knitted and modified collar design. The identity of the silo is currently being kept under-wraps by the Three Stripes but as with the current ACE series, the boot is set for launch in both laceless and laced versions, as per Dele & Llorente's choices.

The small matter of a World Cup next year means there's no use second guessing what adidas have planned for Russia 2018. One thing we do know is they'll be doing all they can to set the pace between now and next summer. When there's a World Cup on the table, anything goes. From throwbacks to new technologies to custom collaborations. Don't rule anything out.
