New Balance may have finally captured that elusive headline Premier League player that they've been after. It's Liverpool forward Sadio Mane who looks close to signing for the brand after training in an unreleased Furon boot this week.

Since their re-emergence onto the football scene New Balance have lured a number of players into their Visaro and Furon silos (Adnan Januzaj, Marouane Fellaini, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas, Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany, etc) most of whom have since left the brand, but they've still lacked that genuine star name to front the brand on the biggest of stages. Have they now found that in Sadio Mane?

Leaning on their status as Liverpool kit manufacturer New Balance look to have been busy behind the scenes at Anfield. Mane has been training in a black and red edition of the New Balance Furon for a number of weeks now, but has yet to wear them in a game. As of yet we've heard nothing official from New Balance in regards to a deal, but the fact that Mane is regularly wearing the brand could indicate that an announcement is imminent.

If New Balance are to secure the services of the Mane, then they'll be boasting one of the fastest, most dangerous strikers in world football. A player that forms one of the most prolific attacks in the elite game, and a player that can represent the brand at the World Cup this summer with Senegal.
