Serge Gnabry took to the Anfield pitch in a pair of blackout PUMA Future 19.1 boots for a training session ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League last 16 clash with Liverpool, fuelling further speculation that he may be set to leave Nike.

This isn’t the first time that Gnabry has been spotted training in the PUMA Future, with the young German seen in them back in December, but things clearly haven’t changed a great deal in the meantime and it looks like he’s yet to decide on his, um… future. With all indications pointing towards the fact that his contract could well be coming to an end with Nike, a change of on-pitch footwear could well be on the horizon.

Back in December the boots were still unreleased, but since then we’ve been treated to a couple of variations on PUMA’s latest project. As for the German brand’s recent recruitment drive, it shows no signs of letting up in 2019 with Atletico Madrid stopper, Jan Oblak becoming the latest acquisition. But Gnabry would be something of a boon for the brand, with his stylish flair both on and off the pitch offering great appeal. As such, they'll be keen to get something wrapped up sooner rather than later. Nike, on the other hand will be trying all they can to hold onto a player that firmly ticks their young and stylish genre of next generation names.
