Following on from the official unveiling of the Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX ‘Air Max Tn’ earlier this week, as debuted by Kylian Mbappe, Marcus Thuram has now revealed that it will also be available in a Vapor XV option when it gets released on 15 January.

Nike kicked off the new year with a hype drop of fairly epic proportions, combining two of their standout product lines, merging the trademark the trademark design of the iconic Nike TN Air Max Plus with the silhouette of the Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX. The collection nods to 1998’s OG ‘Voltage Purple’ drop, and it didn’t take Kylian Mbappé long to not only get his hands on a pair, but score in them too, slotting home the second goal against Toulouse in PSG’s Trophée Des Champions win. And now his fellow countryman, Marcus Thuram, has shown off a Vapor XV version of the Nike Air Mercurial Tn in a recent Inter training session.

The Nike Air Mercurial Tn collection arrives in “Volt Purple/Total Orange” colourways that acknowledge the heritage of the sneaker line, and the expectation will be that Thuram will be wearing the Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV version in Inter’s Serie A game against Verona tomorrow.

First launched in 1998 and last dropping in 2018, the OG “Voltage Purple” colourway of the Air Max Plus also returns once more as the headline release of the shoe’s 25th anniversary, which it celebrated in 2023.
