Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic took to Chelsea's Cobham Training Ground this morning wearing blacked-out pairs of second generation PUMA evoPOWER boots.

As Chelsea prepare for their opening Champions League group game against Schalke on Wednesday PUMA's pairing of Blues midfielders were testing disguised evoPOWER boots. The evoPOWER only launched in January this year so we assume that the boots Fabregas and Matic are wearing are early prototypes in the test stage as PUMA gather player feedback.

The evoPOWER replaced the PowerCat at the turn of the year and has had a busy 9 months including a number of limited edition releases, colourways and new players. The black-out versions worn by the Chelsea boys have kept the EverFit cage on the instep with additional technology on the outstep. A redesigned AccuFoam kicking area is also introduced as a raised material is present on the forefoot of the mark II evoPOWER. We'll share more tech details as and when we get them but let us know your first thoughts.
