When personal projects cross paths with football passions, usually the results are a heartfelt outpouring that can go one of two ways. Either it's a train of thought that descends into a stream of unorganised consciousness or, like it has in this case, it's an utterly triumphant meeting in the middle. Perfect type, perfect game.

Crafted by illustrator and designer Flo Beaufils, his concept in theory, is simple - take the badges of the 20 sides in the French flight and re-imagine them in retro, scripted fashion. Simple it may sound though sublime is his delivery. Carefully sketching and styling each clubs emblem with maximum attention to detail, this good people is huge.

Describing the project Flo explains, "to rest in my universe and my creative inspirations, I chose a vintage direction with as main axis the typographic work. The tools used were brushes and watercolor ink to accentuate this old school spirit." Bottling the old school and presenting it to the new school, this crossover between, art and design with branding and typography while all over weaved with a football undercurrent, is of the highest order - especially where due care are concerned.

You'd think for a piece like this, certain clubs may become relatively repetitive but as you'll see with the various shapes and the smart use of colour, that's not the case. A hugely diverse measure that'll have you picking out a new favourite French side based purely on a swirling aesthetic. Fine work all round.

Better still, the work of Flo is widespread across football. Bespoke pieces dedicated to the match up of the century featuring PSG and Barcelona as well as a football shirt designed for those that share a love for sneakers - give it a look-see.
