Back in the realms of fantasy collaborations, graphic designer SETTPACE has combined Premier League champions Liverpool with French luxury fashion house, Maison Margiela, and the results are once again outstanding.

Known for deconstructive and avant-garde designs with unconventional materials, Maison Margiela produces both haute couture-inspired artisanal collections and ready-to-wear collections. But that’s not to say that they’re above a collaboration within the sporting arena, as their recent hook up with Reebok shows. And so the creative mind of designer SETTPACE has gone about taking that a step further, combining the fashion house with Liverpool Football Club, much as they have done previously with likes of InterAtletico Madrid, Chelsea and PSG recently.

The result of the crossover is a striking design that sees the base white colouring interrupted by black through a disjointed graphic application that runs through the centre. That graphic also spreads across the club crest for a two-tone effect that is very uncommon, and certainly not one that has been seen on a Liverpool shirt before.

The shirt, like the current home option, comes with teal accents on the collar, cuffs, Nike branding and partly through the club crest, which, as mentioned, is split by the black covering on its lower half. The ‘Standard Chartered’ sponsoring also takes on an aesthetically pleasing two tone effect, mirroring the monochrome look of the actual shirt. One can only dream of something like this hitting the shelves…
