The football world is very much prepared for Steven Gerrard to become an LA Galaxy player. Marking the handing over, The Galaxy placed a heartfelt advert in the Liverpool Echo paying tribute to him.
Passing the baton in very tasteful fashion, the LA club thanked Liverpool and its fans for the opportunity to carry on the legacy that the player leaves. The advert placed in the newspaper reads, "Ten years ago today, on a night in Istanbul, a leader became a legend. For the last 17 years Liverpool has backed its loyal captain. To the club that set the example, from a city honoured to carry the legacy, thank you."
And that is why football is brilliant.
