Mental health and football are a subject of great discussion, however it's rare that you hear from someone inside the changing room about the challenges faced in the topflight. Working with social enterprise 'The Mind Map' Leighton Baines is one player who has been talking about mental health as part of an initiative to help navigate young people towards the help that's available.

Founded by editor Phil Bridges, The Mind Map looks to normalise mental health through their online magazine content, exhibitions and events and ultimately help guide young people navigate towards mental health services. They also provide workshops for young people and are working with Liverpool John Moores University to research the mental health support currently available for UK students. Speaking about the subject, Leighton Baines gives his input in the video above.

Bridges explains; “I have spent the past year developing our social enterprise The Mind Map with clinical input from NHS Liverpool CCG and Mersey Care. Our in-conversation with Leighton Baines is typical of the work we deliver - working with popular artistic and sporting talent to further vital discussions around mental health."
