The first PSG x Jordan hype of 2020 got an early preview yesterday as Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans stepped out in a new tracksuit from the upcoming Spring 2020 collection. The landmark collaboration has targeted US markets from day one, and the latest stunt sees NBA take centre stage as the hype machine builds up ahead of a launch later this year.

PSG have already launched their Jordan branded away kit for the 2019/20 season but if rumours are to believed then that isn't the only Jordan football shirt the team will wear this campaign. Any potential jersey will drop alongside a wider lifestyle collection which will no doubt be headlined by the statement tracksuit worn by Williamson as he rocked up to the Pelicans game last night.

Williamson was the number one pick in last June's NBA Draft and shortly after that the teenager signed a luctravite deal with the Jordan Brand, before wearing the PSG x Air Jordan 6: an ideal candidate to cause the first wave of hype ahead of the next collaborative capsule. PSG and Jordan have focused heavily on the US market with this collaboration as they look to raise the profile of the club in the States. Justin Timberlake and Travis Scott were roped in to tease the first ever clothing collection at their respective Paris gigs, while numerous high-profiled American musicians, actors and influencers have all been invited to a game at the Parc des Princes.

As for the tracksuit itself, it's beautifully retro with the dual branded Jordan and PSG branding. We've been beating the drum for a throwback player tracksuit trend for while now and this hits the nail on the head as accurately as the PALACE x Juventus x adidas collab did. Keep your eyes peeled for more carefully curated tease appearances in the coming weeks ahead of the highly anticipated debut 2020 drop in Spring.
