Is this the clearest sign yet that PUMA are set to join the collared movement in the football market? The undisputed rise of knitted, sock-like footwear has swept across the sneaker world and PUMA look to take their slice of the cake with the Ignite evoKNIT sneaker.

PUMA are calling the technology 'Proknit' and it's a pound-for-pound, toe-to-toe challenger of Nike's Flyknit and adidas' Primeknit materials. Nike and adidas have successfully rolled out their versions across their lifestyle collection and even more so on their football footwear silos. Nike have the Magista and Superfly and adidas have the ACE and X. Surely it's only a matter of time until they tie up their football collection with some collared and knitted numbers.

Some description

PUMA have already teased plans over a sock-like collar on their next batch of silo updates that will be officially released in the coming weeks. The next stage of that progression could well see them pounce on the popularity and comfort of knitted football boots, that are now a main-stay and widely accepted as a beneficial tech upgrade in the market.
