Listen carefully because this some next level stuff right here. Introducing the all-new adidas Futurecraft 4D, the world's first high-performance footwear featuring midsoles crafted with light and oxygen. Yeah, you're gonna have to read on...

Leading the charge at phenomenal pace, adidas have unveiled a shoe that is created using Digital Light Synthesis, a technology pioneered by Carbon. The Futurecraft 4D midsole is the result of 17 years of running data, that becomes a reality thanks to a pioneering digital footwear component creation process that eliminates the need for the traditional prototype process. It's a new dimension of sports footwear design that could well hold the future for multiple categories of adidas performance.

“With Digital Light Synthesis, we venture beyond limitations of the past, unlocking a new era in design and manufacturing,” says Eric Liedtke, adidas Group Executive Board Member Responsible For Global Brands. “One driven by athlete data and agile manufacturing processes. By charting a new course for our industry, we can unleash our creativity – transforming not just what we make, but how we make it.”

The first of its kind, adidas can use the technology to match the needs of each athlete, in reference to movement, cushioning, stability, and comfort. Just 300 pairs of the adidas Futurecraft 4D will drop in April reserved exclusively for adidas employees, family and friends. The first chance the public will get to snag a pair will be in FW17 with over 5,000 pairs hitting shelves.
