Celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic sneakers out there, adidas launch two versions of the Ultraboost DNA, combining the high-performance running design of the Ultraboost with the adidas Superstar trainer style in two classic colourways.

The Ultraboost is known predominantly as a performance shoe, but due to its comfort and easy going style it has consistently transitioned easily into lifestyle circles. Now, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the classic Superstar silhouette, adidas have combined its performance element – namely that signature Boost midsole – with an upper look that’s more akin to the iconic Superstar sneaker from the Originals line.

Gone is the performance Primeknit upper that has been a key element to date, replaced instead by a classic leather construction that ensures that this is one for style, not performance. Two colourways offer up a classic football aesthetic, with “Core Black/Cloud White” being used on the first option before being inverted for the second. Both are then embellished with gold details that pop on the heel and through the tongue branding for a regal sign off.

Both colourways of the UltraBoost DNA will be available on adidas.com from 1 April. And that’s no joke.
