Barcelona are due to announce the club's new shirt sponsor for the 2017/18 season in the coming days. Qatar Airways are set to step aside from duties at the Camp Nou paving the way for a fresh multi-million euro sponsorship on the front of the famous red and blue shirts.

An announcement is expected long before the end of the year, to give members adequate time to vote on the matter before 2016 becomes 2017. The new deal is set to eclipse the previous investment from Qatar Airways and overtake the €54 million received by Manchester United and €44 million received by Chelsea from Chevrolet and Yokohama Tyres respectively. Should that be the case, the new shirt sponsorship deal would be the most expensive in the world.

That's some serious money. We can rule out Juan's Bakery and Maria's Tea Room. We'll take a punt on an international giant here. Unless Qatar Airways, who managed to take advantage of a late renewal deal with the club last season, can stump up almost three times that much this time around, FC Barcelona will be kicking off next season with a new sponsor on their chests. The Qatar Airways logo may be big, but at least it's clean. Details of the new sponsor will be revealed by the club in due course.
