Flinging open the doors and cracking open the cans, Reigning Champ hosted their inaugural MLS Cup Champions 'Football Classic' last night to celebrate the launch of their latest Toronto FC inspired collection.

A big night that put foosball front and centre, eight 3-sided teams who come from Toronto and bring a creative edge went toe-to-toe in a battle for the first trophy of its kind. Backed by the fresh MLS Cup Champions collection, the event was attended by first team players Jonathon Osorio and Ashtone Morgan who dropped in to spin the handles.

The MLS does collaborations well and marking the MLS Cup win of Toronto FC, this event was backed by first team players as Jonathon Osorio and Ashtone Morgan were dropped in to spin the handles.

Hitting the Toronto FC teammates with some quick fire Questions, each explained a little more about what went down and what they thought of the collection...

Osorio on the collaboration…
“I had heard about when they did it with previous champions, so I knew if we won that we would get to do one too. My friend Ashtone has a good relationship with the guys at Reigning Champ already and he was the first one to tell me about it. When they asked me to be a part of it, I was really excited.”

On being from Canada…
“The fact that it’s called Reigning Champ is perfect and being a Canadian based company makes it even better. It’s an honor to be able to represent my club and my hometown in this very unique way. We are very proud to be the reigning champions and it goes with the brand seamlessly.”

On if he has done events like this before…
“No. I’ve done things with brands before, but this is my first time getting to work with Reigning Champ. Reigning Champ is actually more my style, so it was fun to be able to do this.”

On his personal style…
“I’m an urban style guy. I like to dress comfortable though too. So Reigning Champ is perfect when it comes to my style. It suits me. Also, the Reigning Champ x TFC gear is so nice. So anytime I’m with the club I’ll definitely choose to wear the clothes that they gave us from this collection.”

Favorite item from the collection…
“Hoodie.”

On the first MLS Cup Foosball Classic…
“It was super cool and the environment was a lot of fun. Me and Ashtone had a lot of fun. We got through the first round, but then we were way out of our League going into the semifinal. Ashtone had to carry the team. But this was a great event.”

Ashtone Morgan on how he first out about the brand…
“I’m big into Canadian clothing brands and I’ve been wearing Reigning Champ for years now. They are affiliated with wings and arms and I wear a lot of Wings and Arm clothing. They have the same owners and so they’re very connected. When I found out they had a sports umbrella, I knew I had to get on the wave because it’s so cozy and comfy.”

On getting to have a Reigning Champ x TFC collaboration with the meaning behind it…
“It’s sweet. It’s a Canadian brand and we’re a Canadian team and I’m glad a Canadian team, especially Toronto finally won. We’re the reigning champs and now we get to wear the gear loud and proud and I’m happy that we had the opportunity to work with them.”

Favorite item in the collection…
“I think the hoodie. I love hoodies. This one’s black, custom logos, the black logo is great, so this one’s really cool.”

On personal style…
“I’m really into clothes but I’m really simplistic. I love trousers and t-shirts, and it’s that simplicity that draws me to Reigning Champ.”

On first MLS Cup Foosball Classic…
“It was exciting! Not the result we wanted. We made it far, we faced a lot of good opponents but most of all, it was fun.”

On his performance…
“It was average. Jonathan carried the team today.”
