N'Golo Kanté has ended speculation surrounding his next brand partnership by signing a new deal with adidas. The World Cup winning French midfielder has penned a new deal with the Three Stripes to commit his long-term future to the brand.

Kanté's time with adidas looked set to end last year when the Chelsea midfielder started to wear blacked out PUMA boots in training, but adidas have finally got their man to agree to a new deal to keep him tied to the brand for the foreseeable future. It's standard practice for players to test other brands when their current contract is set to expire and Kanté's looked to be in talks with adidas' German neighbours PUMA after he trained in both the ONE and Future silos, but now he's officially an adidas player again.

The fact that he was on the cusp of signing something with PUMA may have helped Kanté wrangle a better, new-improved deal with adidas in terms of finance and exposure. Kanté has remained in the all white "Virtuso Pack" colourway since April but his recent appearance at the EURO 2020 'Uniforia' ball launch all but confirmed his new contract with adidas – and now the deal is signed you can expect him to switch into the current "Encryption Pack" when he lines up for Chelsea this weekend.

Kanté's popularity on and off the pitch proved too much for adidas to let go of. A member of the 2018 FIFPro World XI, a World Cup winner, and one of the most universally liked footballers in the game. Cant has played his greatest seasons in the brand, winning the Premier League with Leicester and Chelsea, and the World Cup with France, so the product was never in doubt, meaning adidas must have tweaked the finer details of his contract to keep things going.
