Most people who love football love to watch Lionel Messi play – the guy is on another level. And now we get a little insight into the man behind the myth, as the Argentinian shares is prematch playlist with Apple Music, and it’s available to listen to now.

There’s something comforting in knowing that, while his play is out of this world, Messi is actually still just a person, and not all that different to you and I, right down to the fact that he’ll stick on something as random as AC/DC to get pumped ahead of a match. Yep, there’s some proper bangers contained within Messi: The Warm-Up, the exclusive playlist that the Argentinian’s made with Apple Music. You’ll find the likes of Bad Bunny alongside Rosalía, Maluma, U2 and Rick Ross among the myriad of artists that Messi cues up when he’s looking for focus or inspiration in the minutes leading up to a match.

The playlist tells Messi’s story (and that of his extraordinary career) through the songs that have moved him along the way, from landmark Latin pop and rock to the reggae and cumbia of his native Argentina.

Speaking about the 60-track playlist to Apple Music, Messi said, “For as long as I can remember, music has played an important part in my life, especially on match days. Music quiets my mind, helps me stay calm and relaxed.”
