On the back of an incredible season for Atlético Madrid Nike have unveiled a new home strip for the La Liga champions to wear in their 2014/15 campaign.
An unbelievable, odds defying season for Atlético de Madrid saw them crowned La Liga Champions. Teams of individual superstars were overcome by Atleti's teamwork and disciplined tactics and now they look ahead to build on an incredible campaign.
The new Atlético Madrid 2014/15 home shirt is inspired by the side of 1975 that became world champions for the first time. The 2014/15 season will mark the 40th anniversary of those heroics and the shirt replicates the same design, with three wide stripes on the front and back.
The stripes on the shirt have a tonal background chevron graphic on the front to echo the shape of the bottom of the Atlético club crest. Inside the neck is a pennant tab featuring the Spanish flag and "Campeón del Mundo 1975" (Champions of the world) to once again mark one of Atlético’s greatest ever achievements.
