New York City FC have unveiled their 2018 away shirt for the upcoming MLS season by calling on local content creator, VisualsByPierre, to shoot David Villa, Ronald Matarrita, and Maxime Chanot wearing the design on the streets of East Harlem.
Creating the stylised lookbook, the players returned to P.S. 083 / P.S. 182, one of the first 50 New York City Soccer Initiative mini-pitches, to capture new away strip in an alternative environment, demonstrating its lifestyle feel.
With local New York fans in mind, the design inspiration for the new 2018 kit came from the City of New York, the concrete jungle, resulting in a kit that is predominantly gray in color with City blue accents. The away jersey will be worn for the first time when NYCF takes on LA Galaxy in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, February 10.
