Kappa pays tribute to Genoa’s rich history with a special jersey, celebrating the longevity of Italy's oldest football club. The 130th anniversary jersey arrives with a golden base, accented by Genoa’s traditional colours, while it also features a special crest for the occasion.
As Italy’s oldest football club, Genoa are rightly positioned to celebrate every anniversary that comes their way in style. On that front, they have some help from the impeccable Kappa, who have stepped up with a sublime design for the club’s 130th anniversary. For the occasion, the brand pay homage to the history of Genoa CFC by developing a shirt that’s perfectly suited to celebrating 130 years thanks to its golden hues.
So to start with, the special crest that’s present on the left of the chest with the Genoa CFC logo was developed ad hoc to celebrate the 130 years of the rossoblù club, and under the Griffin are positioned the dates 1893 – 2023. The gold-coloured base combines with a tone-on-tone disappearing pattern that replicates the Griffin, isolated from the logo, and the year the club was founded. The accents are red and blue on the right and left of the single-button collar respectively, and this arrangement of the club’s traditional colours continues on the sleeve cuffs.
The lettering "FROM THE BEGINNING, FOREVER 130" is applied on the insert on the back of the neck to celebrate 130 years of the oldest club in Italy. The shirt was revealed during the “GENOA 130” event which took place on the evening of Thursday 7 September in the setting of the Porto Antico of Genoa. The shirt was revealed on the stage of the event, with the involvement of the singer Alfa, while the photo shoot took place in the prestigious Carrega-Cataldi palace, taking advantage of the Golden Hall.
