898 pairs released to commemorate 1898 founding of the Italian Football Federation

A leather boot with a fold-over tongue? Yes they do still exist. PUMA have launched a limited edition version of their iconic King boot to commemorate the founding of the Italian Football Federation in 1898. Constructed from premium k-leather, the King Italia packs an old school feel with a traditional brown colourway complimented by a classic-fold over tongue and finished off with gold and blue accents.

Just 898 pairs will be launched globally, each pair honouring Italy’s 1982 World Cup victory in Spain with a FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) badge on the heel and Roman numerals that call-out ‘1982’ on the tongue.

Tech wise the King Italia combines classic style with advanced features for a combination of tradition and innovation. A quilted vamp, GripTex ankle lining and a lightweight PU direct injected bi-density outsole all feature but it's all about tradition with the King Italia. One for the collectors and a timely reminder that PUMA can more than hold their own when it comes to limited edition boots.

The limited edition PUMA King Italia is available from today and will set you back approx £195.00. What do you think of the new boots? Let us know, drop us a line in the comments. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
