When Under Armour told us they were embarking on a collaboration with the new 'Batman vs Superman' movie, it's fair to say they had our attention. Leaning on their partnership with Warner Bros. Under Armour have launched two superhero inspired football boots as Batman leads the line with Superman playing just off the shoulder. Both good in the air, naturally.
A comic book design adorns the uppers of the Batman Speedform and Superman Clutchfit Force as Under Armour celebrate the epic new film with a boot release of serious magnitude. Presented in a box of power, Under Armour also release matching baselayers the don the logos of the superheroes.
Under Armour's leading athlete Memphis Depay will be the man to lace up in the boots in the Manchester derby on Sunday but on current form he might need a bit more than just super-human powers to get this United squad back on form. Expect the Dutchman, cape or no cape, to opt for the Batman Speedform as he bids to be the saviour of United's season.
If the boots are anything to go by then that Speedform is tasty. We're backing Batman in this one, he should have enough to take a solid lead into the second leg away from home.
