adidas have launched the new Russia 2017 Confederations Cup kit, presenting the jersey with a lookbook that travels across the tournament's host cities: Moscow, Kazan, Sochi and Saint Petersburg.

Taking things back to the iconic adidas USSR designs of 1980 (below), the Russian team will be kitted out to impress for its first Confederations Cup – both as a participant and as a host nation. A winning design all round, it reinterprets the distinct zig-zag pattern on a light red base with a white crew-neck collar. The colour is a move away from the darker red we've seen on previous jerseys, while the white three stripes return to the shoulders and white sleeve cuffs complete the retro inspired look.

Alongside the lookbook, adidas hosted a street football event to celebrate the launch of the kit. Held at 'The Base Moscow' and featuring the same street footballers and freestylers from the lookbook, the event included a Skype call with members of the Russian national team as well as an appearance from Russian defender Igor Smolnikov. Imagery from the lookbook was projected across The Base allowing those in attendance to experience football culture of four different cities.

The kit will get its debut on Tuesday, November 15th, in the friendly game against Romania.
